I bought 3 pairs of these Tru Grit collars when a deal came up I couldn't refuse. I just wanted to post to offset the only 1 review that seems so bad that the person must have a defective pair or not understand how to lock them in place (or be a competitor looking to discredit this brand). I regularly dead lift over 300 lbs with these collars in place. I'm not gentle putting the weight down. The collars don't slip. They are every bit as good as my more expensive pair I own. To say they don't work at all is obvious misuse or intentional disinformation.
