I am in the process of outfitting all our bathrooms and tubs with grab bars. These can be such a great help for those who either have trouble with balance or just general trouble with hips and knees. This bar is really nice because it serves two purposes. It is a heavy duty grab bar, but also will hold a towel or hanging item on the center pole. It looks really nice and I am debating where I want this to go since it looks great in so many areas. I like that it can be installed horizontally or vertically. My house has several situations where two wall studs are unavailable, so being able to align this on a single stud for maximum stability is a great feature.

I have a jacuzzi tub and as I get older it's starting to feel increasingly treacherous to get out. I was looking for a handle and found this one. I just love it. It's honesty just ridiculously sturdy. You could do some serious damage if you threw this at someone (which you would never do, but the point is....It's HEAVY. And solid). The installation is easy. Each end has a round mounting plate that's covered around the edge with a dozen screw holes, so you can put in as many or as few screws as you need to keep this thing affixed to the wall. Then there is decorative cover that obscures the mounting plate. Super simple, and super flexible. And I love the hook in the middle. It's not a huge thing -- just a bonus -- but it somehow feels a little more practical to at least have some extra utility to this handle. After all, this is a device that's essentially signalling the sad fact that I'm getting to the age where I'm starting to need these kind of safety devices, so the hook helps soften the reality. LOL 10/10

As a senior, I am naturally concerned about making my house as safe as possible as I age. I tell friends that I just don't bounce as well as I used to, and older people are more at risk of breaking bones in a fall, especially where water is involved! I've started upgrading my downstairs to be more ADA compliant, having a w/c ramp installed, wider pocket doors, no throw rugs, and so on. I do want to add more grab bars to my bathroom, as the small one I currently have doesn't make me feel especially secure in the tub, and when I saw this model, I immediately thought that THIS is what a good grab bar should be like! I was right, too, because after I ordered and got it, I unpacked it and told myself that whoever designed this did a great job, as it is attached to just ONE stud in the wall, not two, and the area around the base of the bar has 9 holes in it, so you can position it so that you can hit the same stud for the top and bottom of the bar! Genius! It even has a little hook that you can use to hold a washcloth or soap on a rope or whatever fits there! It really is a much more graceful design than many things designed to help us older folks STAY in our own homes as we age. Not cheap but certainly priceless for peace of mind!

This is a very sturdy handle to help people with mobility issues. It has a nice curvature for hand comfort. I like that it has a spot to hold a towel or something small. Great for in the shower or in front of the toilet to help pull yourself up.
